SAN ANGELO, Texas — Four firefighters who were injured while battling a 3-alarm house fire Saturday have been released from the hospital.
Go San Angelo reported that the San Angelo firefighters were treated and released after part of a structure collapsed on them.
“During firefighting activities there was a partial collapse of an interior wall involving firefighter entrapment,” Anthony Wilson, the department’s public information officer, said. “Our RIT was called into action to assist with extrication of four firefighters injured during the collapse. Four firefighters were transported to local hospitals for possible injuries. All were treated and released.”
No one was living in the house, which was under construction at the time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
