DANVILLE, Va. — A firefighter is recovering after hurting his leg from responding to a house fire Thursday morning.
GoDanRiver reproted that fire trucks responded to the blaze and discovered a fire in the ceiling and attic above the kitchen. Firefighters were at the scene for an hour and 40 minutes.
The flames were quickly extinguished, and fire companies removed much of the ceiling and insulation to ensure the fire didn’t spread, according to the report. The cause of the fire was faulty electrical wiring, the department said.
Fire officials reported that the firefighter’s leg injuries are not life-threatening, according to the report.
