NEWARK, Ohio — The Madison Township trustees might close the township fire department temporarily and reopen it with new leadership, Chief Darrin Decker said.
Asked whether the trustees would close the department to change the fire chief, Decker responded: “Possibly. Or to change all the officers.”
The trustees met Tuesday in a two-hour executive session at the Licking County Administration Building. The meeting agenda said the private session was “to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee.”
