LODD: Pa. fire police Lt. dies after responding to homicide

WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. — A fire police lieutenant died Sunday after responding to the scene of a homicide to assist with traffic control.

The U.S. Fire Administration reported that Lt. Curtis E. Nordsick, 71, with the Wrightsville (Pa.) Steam Engine and Hose Company #1, returned to the firehouse after complaining that he wasn’t feeling well and later collapsed.

He was immediately attended to in the firehouse and transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed from his injuries.

He was the grandfather of Wrightsville Borough Fire Company Chief Chad Livelsberger. He began volunteering for the borough fire police in the late 1960s and was a 48-year fire service veteran.
