LITTLE FALLS, N.J. — Donato Drive now has another name.
The roadway, located near the Little Falls municipal complex building, was dedicated to former Little Falls Fire Chief Edmund Pomponio during a recent ceremony on the block. Members of the Little Falls Fire Department, members of fire departments in neighboring municipalities, township officials, neighbors, and friends and family members of Pomponio attended the event.
“At this time, we’d like to unveil his sign as Chief Edmund Pomponio Way,” said Fire Chief Jack Sweezy that morning. “Every time you’ll travel in and out of your block, you’ll smile and remember the challenges, achievements and accomplishments as well as your brothers and sisters in the fire department,” Sweezy said as he thanked Pomponio for his 55 years of service with the department.
