LOS LUNAS, N.M. — Valencia County Fire Chief Stephen Gonzales has been charged for impersonating an officer after conducting an authorized traffic stop last month.
Gonzales is facing a misdemeanor charge of impersonating an officer and false imprisonment, a fourth degree felony.
He is expected to appear in court, reported KRQUE.
Apart from his latest incident, Gonzales came under fire for posting racy photos during a trip to a fire industry tradeshow in April.
Gonzales remains on paid leave.
