READINGTON, N.J. — Five volunteer firefighters have been charged with stealing about 80 cases of Monster energy drink from a NJ festival.
After a month-long investigation led by Readington police, five volunteer firefighters with the Readington Fire Company and East Whitehouse Fire Company that were hired to provide fire protection services at the Quik Chek Festival of Ballooning were charged, according to NJ.com.
A Monster vendor working the festival contacted police after discovering that 80 cases of the energy drink were missing. The vendor also reported that a 40-foot-high inflatable Monster display was also stolen.
The firefighters are awaiting their court date.
