DENVER — A firefighter was arrested Thursday after arriving for a meeting in a fire department car with an investigator he believed was a 15-year-old girl he was meeting for sex.
The Denver Post reported that Ronald Asciutto, a member of the Denver Fire Department, is being held on suspicion of Internet luring of a child, Internet sexual exploitation and attempted sexual assault on a child.
An investigator with the district attorney’s Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations Unit was contacted by Asciutto Wednesday and the two continued to exchange text messages into Thursday morning, according to the report.
According to an arrest affidavit, Asciutto used sexually graphic language and asked for nude pictures.
Asciutto arrived to meet who he still believed to be a 15-year-old girl Thursday, driving a white Denver Fire Department car, according to the report.
Asciutto drove away from the scene but investigators arrest him at his home a short time later, according to the report.
