Officials said the firefighter and a friend threatened the bride and pushed guests when they were asked to leave

LARGO, Fla. — A firefighter was terminated Monday after crashing a wedding reception over the weekend.

Firefighter Joshua Willard, 34, reportedly showed up to a wedding reception uninvited with a friend, Patrick McAllister, 33. Officials said Willard and McAllister threatened the bride and pushed guests when they were asked to leave.

NBC reported McAllister took a guest’s glasses and threw them to the ground. Willard denied the allegations.

“It’s really not fair that someone can make a statement and based on that statement, my career got ruined,” Willard said.

The firefighter claims that he and McAllister stumbled across the wedding reception while out for drinks and people outside invited them in. The two had several shots from the open bar.

“I don’t really remember what happened after that,” Willard said.

Fire Chief Shelby Willis said Willard was employed with Largo Fire Department for three weeks and was still on a probationary status; he also violated the department’s ethical code.
