KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The recent heavy rains caused a stinky mess at a KCK fire station, but it’s left neighborhood residents fearful about increased response time.
KCK Fire Station #4 is closed because raw sewage backed up into the station at 81st Street and Leavenworth Road.
The furniture was soaked and it’s not healthy to have firefighters in the building until it’s thoroughly cleaned and the furniture replaced. So the ambulance and fire truck and their crews have been moved three miles away to Fire Station #18 at 55th Street and Leavenworth Road.
