CAMDEN, Del. — A 70-year-old school bus driver suffered an apparent heart attack and crashed the vehicle into a house, Camden police said. He died later at a hospital.
Willie H. Warren of Camden was driving the bus with about 40 students about 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. The bus sideswiped a utility pole, traveled about 90 feet, and plowed into a house and tree, police said.
A firefighter who saw the crash performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Warren, who was pronounced dead at Kent General Hospital in Dover.
One child on the bus was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Two other children were taken to a hospital by relatives.
Police said the injuries appeared to be minor. — AP
