TAMPA, Fla. — Firefighters rescued a skydiver dangling 25 to 30 feet off the ground after her parachute became struck in a tree.
The Tampa Tribune reported that Alexandra Ladyzhensky blames a faulty altimeter for causing her to deploy her chute too late, which led to the tree-top landing
Hillsborough County (Fla.) Fire and Rescue had to bring a ladder truck to pluck Ladyzhensky from the tree. She was stuck for over an hour.
She was evaluated for treatment after crews brought her down but was not transported to a hospital.
Firefighters also retrieved the parachute and skydiving equipment from the tree.
