NEWPORT, Ky. — Newport’s former fire chief was charged with driving drunk in his city-owned vehicle nearly a week after he resigned after the police department said he was part of a criminal investigation.
Paul Uebel resigned last Wednesday after police started an investigation into allegations he drove drunk.
“It’s very out of character if that’s the question. I think it’s very surprising, very disappointing,” said Campbell County Attorney Steve Franzen.
