Retired Ky. firefighter killed in motorcycle crash

Timothy Clagget, 54, lost control of his motorcycle while turning into a curve; he was then hit by a car traveling in the opposite direction

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A former Lexington firefighter who was involved in a motorcycle crash died Wednesday night.

Timothy Clagget, 54, was riding his motorcycle on Thatchers Mill Road, near North Middletown Road in Bourbon County, when he lost control of his motorcycle while turning into a curve, Bourbon County Coroner Rosemary Kitchen said. Clagget was then hit by a car traveling the opposite direction. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

WKYT-TV reported Claggett, a 25-year veteran, retired as a lieutenant from the Lexington Fire Department in 2012. He worked at Station 20 on Arrowhead Drive the last eight years with the department. Funeral arrangements are pending.
