HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — An Horry County Fire and Rescue ambulance was involved in a car crash on U.S. 17 Bypass while transporting a cardiac patient to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, according to Brian VanAernem, spokesman with Horry County Fire and Rescue.
The two-car crash occurred about 11 a.m. Saturday, and the occupants of the car reportedly had no injuries and did not want to go to the hospital, VanAernem said.
The patient and medic crew in the ambulance were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with injuries.
Myrtle Beach Fire and Rescue responded to the incident, and Myrtle Beach police are investigating the cause, VanAernem said.
A post on Horry County Fire Rescue’s Facebook page posted a little after noon said “We appreciate everyone’s prayers and concerns. It appears that everyone involved in this incident will be OK.”
