MURPHY, Texas — A Murphy man was arrested Saturday after posing as a Dallas firefighter at a Plano firehouse, fire officials said.
Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Joel Lavender identified the man as Terrance King, 21, who was arrested Saturday on theft charges. King said he lived in Plano, and asked to ride along with the firefighters from his own city, said Plano Fire Department spokeswoman Capt. Peggy Harrell. The firefighters became suspicious when the man couldn’t produce ID.
“Our guys are pretty savvy and figured it out pretty quickly,” Harrell said.
