Competitive Grant Opportunity for Emergency Preparedness and Volunteer Training Closes Sept. 16

Applications are now being accepted from local, county and tribal government agencies for grants to enable training for personal preparedness, instructors, exercises, ongoing volunteer programs, and surge capacity response. Programs may include but are not limited to the following: All types of CERT and similar training; critical incident stress management; individual and family preparedness training, etc.

A total of $60,000 will be distributed as one-time grant awards. The maximum duration of project funding is for one year; continued funding beyond that year cannot be anticipated.

Notice of this grant was first sent in late August; this message is a reminder for those who intend to apply that the application deadline is September 16.

Submit Applications Using Egrants: Applications must be submitted through the OJA Egrants online grants management system. If you have never used OJA Egrants before, you will need to register for access to the system. To register online, go to http://register.wisconsin.gov/AccountManagement/ and complete the ‘self registration’ process. On the account registration site, you will have a choice between the OJA Egrants and Commerce eGrants. Please take care to select “OJA Egrants” during this process.

Applications must be submitted through OJA Egrants on or before September 16, 2010.
