The application period for the 2007 Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grant Program is now open. Applications must be received by November 30 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
FP&S Grants are part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants. FP&S grants support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. The primary goal of these grants is to target high-risk populations and mitigate high incidences of death and injury.
Examples of projects supported by FP&S grants include fire prevention and public safety education campaigns, juvenile firesetter interventions, media campaigns, and arson prevention and awareness programs. The funds can also be for firefighter safety research and development.
More information, as well as a tutorial for the grant application, is available online at www.firegrantsupport.com. Applicants who have questions regarding FP&S grants can also contact the Help Desk at 1-866-274-0960 or firegrants@dhs.gov.
