Homeland Security: NIMS and ICS Training Grant Now Open- Wisconsin

Funding under this grant program will assist local and state government agencies become compliant with NIMS and ICS requirements. Compliance with the federal requirements will improve the state’s ability to respond to all hazards emergencies whether it is local, regional or statewide.

Important Dates: Grant funding is ongoing through December 31, 2011 or until available grant funds are depleted.

* Project End Date: March 31, 2012

Anticipated Funding Amount: $190,000 will be available to fund eligible NIMS and ICS training courses.

Match/Cost Sharing Requirement: None

Eligibility: Local/State government units that must comply with Homeland Security’s Presidential Directive 5 (HSPD-5).

Eligible Expenses: All expenses must be new and cannot replace existing state or local government funding. Substitution of existing funds with federal grants (supplanting) will be the subject of monitoring and audit. Violations may result in a range of penalties, including suspension of current and future funds under this program, suspension or debarment from federal grants, repayment of monies provided under a grant, and civil and/or criminal penalties.

Funding may be used to reimburse costs associated with the hosting of eligible NIMS and ICS training classes. Eligible costs include however are not limited to instructor fees/expenses student supplies, training props and limited circumstances for student lodging.

Applications must be submitted through OJA Egrants on or before November 30, 2011.
