Now that we’re in the thick of the Public Safety Interoperable Communications grants process, it’s a good time to review the state application timeline and look ahead to the upcoming pass-through process - which in many states will include a broad definition of interoperability. A July 11 Federal Register posting by NTIA agrees that “a number of technologies (should) be included in this program, including two-way paging, satellite, IP-based systems, WiFi and WiMAX.”
