WARREN, Ohio — A veteran firefighter was saved by rookie firefighters after he suffered a heart attack on the job.
WFMJ reported that a veteran firefighter collapsed in the Warren Fire Department locker room after having a heart attack. Three new hires, Brock Trimmer, Sebastian Zlotkavski and Ronnie Simone, used their paramedic training to save him.
One of them ran to get an AED while the other two took turns doing chest compressions. They continued CPR for 10 more minutes while two police officers assisted.
Members of the fire department said that the incident only made them more grateful to have hired the three rookies.
