INDIANAPOLIS — Firefighters using a new bracket system can swiftly ensure that their SCBA is securely in place when they board an apparatus to go out on a call.
The user-friendly EZ-LOC brackets — displayed at FDIC in Indianapolis — are designed to better keep SCBA in place, securing firefighter breathing apparatus with a single, light press of a clamp.
“In the past, levers and straps were used to secure SCBA, but with the EZ-LOC, you just press down on the top,” Ziamatic Crop. Marketing coordinator Ryan Glover said.
“The brand new, patented ratchet system keeps SCBA secure even if it’s crooked or half-closed. The SCBA stays secure even if a mistake is made.”
Ziamatic Corp. introduced a range of bracket models to market in January, including electric models that tie directly into the apparatus’ electrical system and can be wired to release upon activation of the parking brake.
Since every department has different individual needs, the various models offer greater options for customization.
Many of the brackets come standard with an adjustable foot plate kit to allow the user to adjust the bracket on the fly.
The standard pull-release can be mounted on any position on the seat — left, right, top or bottom.
The EZ-LOC is NFPA 1901-09 compliant and third party tested to exceed the 9G standard and fits most SCBAs with only minor adjustments.
