Polartec worked with True North to develop a Polartec Thermal FR fleece made from Nomex that offers unmatched wind resistance. True North is also using a Polartec Power Stretch FR fabric that offers 4-way stretch, warmth without weight, breathability, and efficient moisture management. Worn by militaries around the world, Polartec’s patented Power Stretch grid knit construction is now being rapidly adopted by the commercial FR market as a cold weather, flame resistant base or midlayer. Additionaly, True North is using Polartec’s Power Dry FR line of baselayer fabrics which offer HRC2 arc flash protection for utility workers. Polartec Power Dry FR is a favored baselayer material for fire service personnel due to its unmatched moisture management performance. In Spring of 2011 True North will be launching its lightweight t-shirt also manufactured with Polartec’s Power Dry FR fabric, perfect for those long summer days.
