- Hazardous material storage following the West, Texas tragedy – New changes to NFPA 400 address a range of safety issues concerning how AN (ammonium nitrate) is handled and stored in existing facilities, following the deadly 2013 ammonium nitrate explosion in Texas.
- Sprinklers and cloud ceilings – A look at the key changes to the 2016 edition of NFPA 13. These changes pertain to ongoing concerns over warehouse and storage occupancy protection, the popularity of cloud ceilings and new sprinkler research.
- Fire alarm and mass notification systems – An overview of the changes made to NFPA 72 that will have a major impact on the design and installation of fire alarm and mass notification systems.
- Electric shock at marinas – A new look at marinas and boatyards and the problem of electric shock drowning has prompted new requirements for ground fault protection in the 2016 edition of NFPA 303.
