SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Firefighters, responding to a male with his arm stuck in a meat grinder early Sunday, opted to bring the victim and the machine to Baystate Medical Center to complete the extrication with the help of emergency department personnel.
The department’s Rescue Squad and Ladder 3 responded to the scene of the accident shortly before 3:30 a.m., Dennis Leger, aide to Commissioner William Conant, said.
“They decided to take him and the machine and bring it all to the hospital,” Leger said.
