CALIFORNIA, Mo. — Three California, Mo., residents were killed when the 2000 Pontiac minivan they were riding in was broad-sided by a fire truck at about 5:40 p.m. Saturday.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol crash report, Elias Lemus, 23, Marisol Cardoso-Ambriz, 18, and Cesar Cardoso-Ambriz, 13, were fatally injured when the van they were riding in attempted a left turn on Route 87 and pulled into the path of the fire truck.
The northbound van, driven by 19-year-old Diego. G. Cardosa-Ambriz of California, Mo., was struck on its passenger’s side by the southbound fire truck, a 1997 KME, driven by 23-year-old Grant D. Beauchamp.
