Fire station makeover show airs

In addition to watching the Texas fire station be rebuilt, used apparatus dealer announced two $1,000 donations to fire departments during the show.

CENTRAL BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — Monday’s episode of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition profiled Texas Firefighter Mizzy Zdroj, and the show’s crews rebuilding of not only her home, but her department.

Firefighter Zdroj lost her home to a massive wildfire in Texas in 2011, and while the Makeover crew rebuilt her home, they decided they wouldn’t stop there.

In addition to her home being destroyed, her station next door was as well, including much of their equipment.

Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus stepped in to donate a new brush truck to the department and made additional donations of $1,000 each to departments in Hinesville, Ga. and Roundup, Mont. Globe Manufacturing, Inc. also spread more goodwill by donating more than $50,000 in turnout gear.
