PASADENA, Md. — A fire truck displaying signs for Republican candidates Donald Trump and Kathy Szeliga outside a polling place at George Fox Middle School in Pasadena on Tuesday is not a county-owned vehicle, a fire department spokesman said.
A photo of the fire truck circulated on social media Tuesday morning. Capt. Russ Davies said that the fire truck was privately owned by a person known to the department.
The truck also had the name Green Haven Volunteer Fire Department scrawled across the top of it. The Green Haven and Powhatan Beach volunteer fire departments merged into the Armiger Fire Station, Company 30, in 1990, Davies said.
The fire truck marked the second time in less than 24-hours that a vehicle outside a polling place raised concerns from community members. On Monday, a vehicle resembling an unmarked police vehicle could be seen outside Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park.
The 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, is owned by Tom Lindsay, 65, of Severna Park. Lindsay parked the vehicle at the church with a sign for Trump on the vehicle’s bumper.
“My contention is, it’s just a big bumper sticker – it just happens to be bigger than yours,” he said.
However, after receiving a complaint from someone at the church Lindsay removed the sign and placed it under his vehicle until Election Day, he said.
