SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — A fire truck en route to a structure fire was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle Sunday evening.
Noozhawk reported that the crash caused minor damage to the fire truck’s front bumper, and caused major damage to the front of the Mercedes-Benz coupe.
“It appears to be bumper to bumper and the airbags did deploy in the civilian car,” Engineer Russ Sechler said. “That’s a good thing.”
The driver of the coupe was taken by ambulance to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to the report. No firefighters were injured in the wreck.
The fire department will do an internal review, but the collision investigation was handed over to the sheriff’s department, according to the report.
