MONROE, La. — The Monroe Fire Department unveiled their newest piece of equipment, an aircraft and rescue fire-fighting vehicle, at a demonstration at the Monroe Regional Airport Wednesday.
Fire Chief Jimmie Bryant said the vehicle, a Striker-One, which will go by the call sign “S-1,” is a top-of-the-line vehicle.
“There is nothing at any airport anywhere in the continental U.S. that has capabilities that exceed this one,” Bryant beamed. “It truly is state-of-the-art when it comes to aircraft and rescue fire-fighting.”
