STOCKTON, Calif. — A suspect was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run involving an ambulance in January.

Police conducting a probation search arrested three people on suspicion of gun and drug violations and a fourth who had been wanted for assault with a deadly weapon after a paramedic was injured in January.

The Record reported that officers arrested Eduardo Barboza, 26, Eric Elizondo, 27, Eric Roland, 21, and Alexander Bristol, 26, on suspicion of weapon and drug violations and with gang enhancements Wednesday.

On Jan. 27, paramedics and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle collision. When a paramedic opened a driver’s door to turn off the vehicle, a driver, identified as Roland, woke up and put the car in reverse and accelerated.

The paramedic was knocked to the ground and the driver collided with a parked ambulance and fire truck, nearly hitting other responders. The paramedic was treated for a head laceration.

Police said Roland was a known gang member and they have been searching for him.
