Pa. fire truck rolls, firefighter injured

The rescue truck was on its way back to the station when it ran off a road and rolled onto its side

GREENSBURG, Pa. — A fire truck toppled over an embankment on Saturday, injuring at least one firefighter.

TribLive.com reported that the North Hempfield (Pa.) Volunteer Fire Department rescue truck was on its way back to the station when it ran off a road and rolled onto its side.

Two firefighters were on the truck, and at least one person was taken to a hospital for observation.

Firefighters earlier responded to a two-car crash and were en route back to their station when the incident occurred. The fire truck was towed from the scene.

For now, the truck will remain out of service and the department will rely on other agencies to back them up.
