Advent Product Development Releases the Pitak Helmet

WAYNE, NJ—The Pitak is a specially designed helmet for wear by firefighters or miners which boasts a replaceable filter incorporated into the design of the face shield. This design provides a practical means of protecting the wearer from smoke and particulate inhalation while on the job. It will be manufactured of lined Kevlar or comparable reinforced fiberglass composite material designed to resist cracking and chipping while serving to protect the user from impact to the head. The Pitak is a sturdy helmet featuring a noncorroding high-temperature face shield with attached chin strap. Within the design of the shield is a molded holder inside of which is a replaceable filter that encompasses the user’s nose and mouth. The flame resistant filter is designed to trap particulars such as soot while absorbing hazardous gases associated with smoke. The Pitak is available in a variety to sizes to accommodate all needs.

The Pitak was invented by Ronald Pitak of Wayne, NJ. He said, “The key benefit of The Pitak is the replaceable filter. It greatly reduces the carcinogens such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide and other noxious chemicals associated with both smoke and fire. It is anticipated that it will prevent both short and long term effects of inhaling these fumes, including cardiovascular related injuries. The Pitak is easy to put on, comfortable to wear, and the use of this special helmet could mean the difference between life and death for firefighters and miners too. Helicopter rescue personnel will find it keeps out the dust, dirt and sand.” He added, “It also shields against glass particulates when an explosion and subsequent fire breaks windows in a large building.”
