FOLCROFT, Pa. — Firefighters are crediting a teenage member of their department with saving an umpire’s life during a baseball game Monday night.
The Associated Press reported that Michael Brodzinski is a student at Academy Park High School in Sharon Hill, Pa. and a member of the Folcroft Borough Darby (Pa.) Fire Company.
He was on second base after hitting a double when he saw the umpire collapse at home plate.
Brodzinski performed CPR on the umpire until paramedics arrived.
The umpire is in stable condition at a hospital.
