Calif. fire station gets firefighter statue

MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. — A firefighter statue by artist Paul Olesniewicz will be unveiled at an open house at Fire Station No. 1 on the Fourth of July, according to Fire Chief Brent Harper.

“One thing I want to emphasize in the current time is that it was paid for,” Harper stated in a phone interview.

The statue’s cost? $50,000.
