Every firefighter is responsible for making sure their protective is in good working condition. The gear will only work as well as it is maintained.
If gear is kept in good condition, it will perform well. If it is in bad condition, it will likely fail you at some point. Make sure to give your firefighting gear a quick inspection whether it is at the start of your shift, your assigned night for duty, for training or any other regular opportunity.
