In-apparatus helmet holder meets NFPA requirements

NFPA 1901 calls for helmets to be stored, not worn, while on the rig; this unit has been tested to keep helmets tucked away up to 9 Gs

Ziamatic Corp. has developed a new product in conjunction with the new NFPA 1901 standard for securing fire helmets in the fire apparatus cab.

Dubbed Model UHH-1, the product fully complies with the 2009 edition of NFPA 1901 and has been tested to 9 Gs. The helmet mount was designed by Ziamatic to hold traditional leather style helmets as well as contemporary-design helmets.

Saving time in emergency situations on the fireground and other emergency scenes is of the utmost importance when responding, which this helmet holder takes into consideration.

The UHH-1 fits any size helmet without having to fumble and without making major adjustments, and helmets are easily stored and removed quickly when needed.

Some might say this is not needed for apparatus cabs. Yet it is a standard and anything that makes a fire truck safer for responding firefighters is good in our book.

Ziamatic Corp is one of the market leaders in SCBA bracket and ladder rack technology. For more information, please call 1-800-711-FIRE or visit http://bit.ly/g8L7Vk.
