NFPA 1851 is the Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting. The new update to the free course provides instruction on how to properly care for turnout gear and how often it should be inspected, with an easy to follow program produced by Globe that follows the NFPA’s 1851 code chapter by chapter. Users will be tested with a short exam at the end of the program, after which they will receive a certificate recognizing completion of the course. In this update, new testing procedures, and regulations about who can conduct advanced inspections and repairs are discussed, along with other key changes.
