New Value Line Designed to Meet Needs of Today’s Hard Pressed Departments
DAYTON, Ohio – Honeywell First Responder Products (HFRP) the makers of Morning Pride protective clothing for firefighters, announced today the launch of a new brand of bunker gear designed to meet the needs of departments looking for light-weight, high-performance, stress-reducing turn out gear that is affordable for even the most cash-strapped department.
“First-rate firefighters shouldn’t have to settle for second-rate bunker gear, no matter how tough the times are,” said Tony Wyman, Vice-president of Marketing for Honeywell First Responder Products. “Now with Ranger Combat Ready Bunker Gear no one has to settle anymore.”
Made in the same factory as the legendary Morning Pride by Honeywell brand, Ranger Combat Ready Bunker Gear was designed to be as light on the back as it is on the budget. Focusing on making the gear light, comfortable and easy to move in, Honeywell designers called on years of experience designing Morning Pride bunker gear.
“We found ways to reduce weight without compromising safety or comfort,” said Alan Schierenbeck, Garment Product Manager for HFRP. “As challenging as fighting fire is today, we wanted to produce a set of gear that protected firefighters from the heat of the blaze as well as from the stress on the body caused by the exertion needed to fight it. With the leading cause of line of duty deaths being heart attacks, firefighters need gear that works with them, not against them.”
Honeywell chose to brand the gear under the Ranger name to tie it to the company’s successful line of fire boots. “Ranger boots are known throughout the industry for their toughness, durability and value. Firefighters will come to know Ranger Combat Ready Bunker Gear for the same reasons,” said Mr. Wyman.
Ranger Combat Ready Bunker Gear is available through selected leading fire product distributors. It will be sized to fit individual firefighters and will come with a wide list of available options, colors and materials. The new line will be NFPA 1971, 2007 edition certified.
