CRR Week to unveil new logo at upcoming IAFC Leadership Conference, May 9-11

WASHINGTON, DC – The CRR Week logo has been given a makeover. The logo has been redesigned to incorporate the colors of the Vision 20/20 logo while featuring new graphics and the Five E’s that are the focus of CRR Week: Education, Engineering, Enforcement, Economic Incentive and Emergency Response.

The logo will be released at the upcoming IAFC Community Risk Reduction Leadership Conference in Murfreesboro, Tennessee May 9-11, where the CRR Week team will launch the rebranding campaign with banners, a tablecloth and promotional material showcasing the updated logo. Fire safety professionals are encouraged to stop by our exhibit space to network with the team and see the new logo.

CRR Week 2024 kicks off on Martin Luther King Day, a National Day of Service, which is Monday, January 15, 2024. It runs through Sunday, January 21. The goal of CRR Week is to raise awareness among the fire service nationwide about the role of CRR and how any department, no matter the type or location, can use the concepts of CRR to make their community and department safer. Each year CRR Week focuses on one of the five intervention strategies known as the 5 E’s.

Since CRR Week is locally driven, departments have the flexibility to design their own campaign to meet their local needs. While it’s suggested that each day could focus on a different E, it’s just that – a suggestion. Depending on their circumstances and resources, departments may choose a different structure for the week. For example, volunteer departments may choose to concentrate on the weekend since that’s when their members may be available, and people are at home for home safety visits.

CRR (Community Risk Reduction) is a data-driven process to identify and prioritize local risks, followed by the integrated and strategic investment of emergency response and prevention resources to reduce their occurrence, and impact and build healthy, safe and resilient communities.

During CRR Week and throughout the year, departments can tap into a wide array of resources to assist them in their CRR initiatives. These include videos, podcasts, data tools, online guides, standards, risk assessments, online forums, a fire safety materials generator, home safety visit app and educational courses. These free resources can all be easily accessed on the CRR Week website.
