FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Fremont firefighters rescued someone who became trapped under a collapsed roof Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called at 3:12 p.m. to 55 Lane 820A Snow Lake. Upon arriving, they found that the roof of a building had collapsed, trapping a male subject, whose age was not provided, underneath.

Fire crews were able to stabilize the roof so the person could then be extracted.

That person suffered serious injuries, the fire department said. A Samaritan helicopter then transported him to a hospital.

Fremont police, Steuben County EMS, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, Orland police and Steuben County Communications workers assisted Fremont firefighters at the scene.
