FLAT ROCK, Ala. — Volunteer firefighters in Flat Rock raced to their own station to find hoses and helmets surrounded by flames.

“It’s very sad to look at all the work over the years that we’ve put into it,” firefighter Zach Cagle said. “We get a call this morning at approximately 4:13 to be en route to 9898 County Road 14 for a structure fire.”

That’s the address for Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Station No. 3, which was the main station in Flat Rock until Station No. 5 opened about five years ago.
