WACO, Texas — Three Waco firefighters and two police officers were awarded the Waco Fire Department’s Medal of Valor last Friday for their actions in rescuing two teenagers from a rain-swollen city creek.
Firefighters Shane Spann, Michael Puig and Eric Riser, along with police Officers Christopher Sharpless and Bobby King were presented the awards last Friday in a ceremony at the fire department, Waco fire Chief John Johnston said.
