WHITES FERRY, Md. — Fourteen Boy Scouts and their advisors were rescued early Monday morning when rising water from the Potomac River trapped them at their campsite.

Assistant Chief Scott Graham, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, says they ferried the scouts and six adults by boat to dry land from their White’s Ferry campsite along the C&O Canal Towpath.

According to Graham, the boys were never in any immediate danger, and they are uninjured.
