The ARM-LOC slides onto the victim’s forearm and the rescue responder or the victim pulls the pin that deploys and locks the device into place. This eliminates the need for the victim to grasp a rope. It can also help float the victim when they pull the device close to his or her chest. It can be deployed in seconds and re-deployed over and over again. ARM-LOC is an easy to use, life saving device that will give police, fire and rescue responders an extra arm in saving people trapped by various water disasters. It can be used for floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, ice and rapid water rescues and snowmobile and boating accidents.
Where did your company originate from?
Water Rescue Innovations was formed as a result of an amazing idea that is now called the ARM-LOC.
What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
The ARM-LOC was inspired by a tragic real life water rescue incident during a flash flood. The victim was in a strong current and the rescuers could not get a grip on the individual resulting in a tragedy. The ARM-LOC was developed to get a positive grip on a victim during water or ice rescues.
Why do you believe your products are essential to the fire community?
Many times the first responder is the fire and rescue departments. Our device is simple to use, fast and effective, and it can be deployed over and over again. The rescuer is not compromised or put into danger as well.
What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
They give so much of themselves to the community every day risking their own lives. Giving them a tool such as the ARM-LOC where they can do the job that they love and keeping the rescuers safe is a reward itself.
Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share with our users about you or your company?
Our new office location used to be a church. Much like a church family, our company is family friendly. Also, the bonus is that we have plenty of space for many ARM-LOC orders.
What is next for your company?
We have a new product coming out in the fall for dive rescue and recovery teams. Also, due to high demand for animal rescue, we are working on a few prototypes and will have them out to test with local departments by this winter.
