HAWTHORNE, Nev. — Two firefighters were hurt Monday when their fire truck rolled over while they were driving home to Arizona after helping battle the Carr Fire in California.

AZ Central reported the two firefighters had to be extricated from their fire truck after it blew a tire, causing a rollover crash, according to state forestry spokesperson Tiffany Davila.

The firefighters were airlifted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released.

“Considering the seriousness of the accident, we are very lucky these men were able to be released from the hospital so quickly,” State Forester Jeff Whitney said. “As firefighters, we are always on the road, and driving is one of the most dangerous parts of our jobs. We cannot stress driver safety enough. Thankfully, these men will both make full recoveries.”
