NEW CASTLE, Del. — Three firefighters are recovering after they were injured Thursday night in a crash involving a fire truck and a tractor-trailer on Interstate 295 in New Castle County.

A Minquadale Fire Company truck was responding to a crash when the tractor-trailer struck the truck, WPVI reported.

The fire truck hit a guard rail and overturned. A number of firefighters inside were trapped briefly.

All three were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The other driver was not hurt, police said.

The fire chief said Saturday in a Facebook post that the injured firefighters are all recuperating at home.
