SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after colliding with a fire truck Tuesday afternoon.
KSAT reported that the fire truck was on its way back to the station when the man’s car veered into oncoming traffic.
The fire truck attempted to avoid the crash, but hit the vehicle on its side. The driver, who was in his 60s, was extracted from the vehicle and transported to a hospital.
No firefighters were injured, but the truck suffered an estimated $700,000 to $1,000,000 in damages, according to San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood.
The crash is currently under investigation.
