RICHMOND, Mich. — A volunteer firefighter was hurt Monday after a tree fell into the roadway in front of the fire truck he was driving.
The Times Herald reported that the firefighter was driving the rig for a routine truck check when a tree broke and fell into the roadway in front of the rig, according to police.
Witnesses said the firefighter, who is a 13-year veteran of the Richmond Fire Department, didn’t have time to avoid the crash.
The firefighter was transported to a hospital and treated for his injuries. Police said he is expected to make a full recovery.
