Pa. apparatus collides with motorcycle

The motorcyclist was injured in the crash, which occurred while the apparatus was responding to a fire

YORK CITY, Pa. — A York City firetruck responding to a structure fire on Sunday night was involved in a crash with an unrelated vehicle, officials announced Monday.

Around 11:47 p.m., fire and rescue services were called to the fire at 26 North State Street, where smoke was coming from the roof.

While responding to the call, Engine 99-1 with the city was involved in a crash with a motorcycle at the intersection of East Main Street and North Broad Street, the city said.

The motorcyclist suffered injuries and was admitted to York Hospital for treatment. The person’s condition was not given.

Three firefighters were on the truck during the crash and were not injured.

State police and the York City Police Department are investigating the crash.
